UZO helps you whenever you have doubts or questions.

Invoices, Top-ups and Balance

  • View your first UZO bill

Your first UZO bill may show a different amount than usual, as it may include amounts proportional to the number of days the service was active. How the first bill is calculated depends on the type of service you signed up for.

Below, we explain how the initial billing for UZO’s main services works.

First invoice for a UZO Package

UZO packages are billedin the month they are used.

    This means that:

    • In January, you pay for January
    • In February, you pay for February, and so on

Onyour first bill, you can pay:

    • The month in which the invoice is issued
    • Plus the number of days of use from the previous month, if the installation took place before the invoice was issued

Thebilling periodis always indicated on the back of the invoice.

Examples of billing on the first invoice:
    1. Invoice issued in the same month as the installation

If the bill is issued in the same month as the installation, it includes only the days of service from the installation date through the end of the month.

Example: Installationon January 6 → Invoice issued on January 19 → Paid on January 25.
The period from January 6 to January 31 (25 days) is billed.

Calculation formula:(monthly fee ÷ 30 days) × number of days of active service

    2. Invoice issued in the month following installation

If the installation takes place in one month and the invoice is issued the following month, the invoice includes:

    • The number of days of use in the month of installation,
    • The full monthly fee for the following month (the month the invoice is issued).

Example:Installation on January 27 → Invoice issued on February 10 → Payment covers the days in January (27 through 31) plus the entire month of February.
You will be charged for January 27–31, plus the full monthly fee for February.

Important notes regarding the first invoice:
    • This billing model applies to all monthly fees for UZO services
    • Charges not included in the monthly bill (such as international calls, roaming, premium-rate numbers, MMS, or additional usage) appear in theUsage section

    • Usage not included in the monthly fee is billed in the month following the month of usage

mobile data Bill for PC or Tablet

The first mobile data bill is issuedin the month following service activationand includes:

    • The prorated amount for the month in which the service is activated
    • The full monthly fee for the month in which the invoice was issued
    Example:

Activation on August 25 → September bill

Includes August 25–31 (7 days in August) + the September tuition payment.

⚠️ Your first bill will be higher than usual. Starting with your second bill, the amount will return to normal.

    Mobile Voice Service Bill

The first bill for the mobile voice service is issuedin the month following activation, and:

    • Includes only the days of use from the previous month

    • It will be lower than usual.

Starting with the second invoice, the amount will be standard

Example: Activationon August 25 → September bill
This includes only the days from August 25 to 31 (7 days in August).

If you've received a bill for more than you expected, you can quickly identify the reason for the increase using the Bill Comparator in the my UZO app.

How to compare invoices in the my UZO app
    • SelectInvoices
    • Select the service you want
    • Click on " Compare invoices"
    • See the differences in value and their causes

Main reasons for a higher bill:

    1. First bill after installation
The first bill may be higher because:
    • Includes the days from the installation date through the end of the month
    • It also includes the following month. See how the first invoice is issued.
    • It may not show all offers yet
Check the contract summary in the my UZO app to confirm the terms and associated offers. If you have any issues, call theSupport Lines(see therate schedule).

    2. Changes to the service
If you've made changes, the amount may increase because:
    • Changed plans
    • Did you purchase or add devices, such as cell phones?
Changes appear automatically on your bill. See what the invoice looks like after a plan change.

    3. End of discounts
Once the discounts or the contract end, you'll start paying the regular price for the service.
You can see when the discounts end in the your contract summary, in the my UZO app.

    4. Extra usage not included in the plan

There may be additional chargesnot included in the package you purchased, such as:

    • Multimedia Messaging (MMS)
    • Roaming Calls (calls made and/or received while outside Portugal)
    • International calls
    • Calls to 761 numbers (MEO 761 calls)
    • Calls to 808 numbers (808 calls to other carriers)
    • Calls to Customer Support
    • Value-added services (e.g., calls to special numbers).

If you don't have your bill with the call details, you can change the level of detail on your bill in the my UZO app.

Charges for usage exceeding the credit limit will only apply if theextra monthly fee is greater than zero. These charges will be billed on your next statement. Do you know how to change the extra monthly fee limit extra monthly fee my UZO app.

    5. Online subscriptions or content purchases

Games, apps, or services that can be accidentally activated online or via text and incur a monthly charge.

In the my UZO app, you can view your active services, cancel them, and block them.

    6. Late payments
If you paid the bill late:
    • Apenalty andlate paymentfeeare applied

    • If you are more than two bills past due, your service will be suspended, and there is afee to reactivate it.

These amounts appear in theMISCELLANEOUS > ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES section of the invoice.

    7. Outstanding balances or installments

In the summary of the invoice may include:

    • Amounts owed from previous months
    • Installment payment agreements

If you made the payment after the bill was issued, the amount may still appear on the next bill. In that case, please pay only the current amount using the bill’s MB reference number.

If you miss a payment under a payment plan, you will have to pay the full amount of the debt the following month.

    8. Price Update
The monthly amount may change once a year, as required by law. You will be notified in advance, either on your bill or via text.

How to view roaming charges on your bill.
  • What changes on the bill after changing the service (Bundle with mobile phone)

When you make a change to your services, we adjust the charges on your bill. This information appears in the“MonthlyCharges” section.

We present two distinct cases, along with an explanation of how the calculations are performed:

Case 1 – A change to your service occurs before the date your bill is issued.
In this case, you will be chargedfor thedays you used your old plan plus the days you use your new plan, through the end of the month.
For example: if you signed up for the service on the 6th, you will be charged for 5 days of the old plan plus 25 days of the new plan.

Case 2 – A change to your service occurs after the date your bill is issued
In this case, your bill will be adjusted as follows: in the month of the change, you will pay for the old plan as usual, since the bill had already been issued. The following month, you will be charged themonthly fee for the new plan, plus the days you used that new plan in the previous month, minus the days of the old plan that you had already paid for but did not use. This adjustment ensures that you pay only for the days you actually used.
For example, if the change to your service took place on the 27th and your bill is issued on the 20th, in the month following the change you will pay for 4 days of the month in which the change occurred plus the monthly fee for the following month—minus the 4 days you had already paid for under the old plan in the month of the change.

If you added apostpaid service to your Bundle with mobile phone plan, you will receive two bills the following month:
    • Your latest postpaid bill, which includes charges for the days you used the service up to the date of the change—that is, your usage charges and the monthly fee for that period.
    • The invoice for the Bundle with mobile phone service with the new mobile phone.

    Credit Memo Confirmation Email
In accordance with Article 78(5) of the VAT Code, UZO needs to confirm that you were aware of the issuance of credit notes in order to settle the VAT with the government.
If you receive an email with the subject line“Credit Memo Receipt Confirmation,” you should open the email and click“Confirm.”

If you are customer and do not have any business activity associated with your financial services, this confirmation has no impact on you and is intended solely to fulfill a legal obligation.
If you run a business and the credit note is related to that business, you should record it in your books after confirming receipt.

Confirming the credit memo incurs no costs and does not change the amount due; it is required solely for legal reasons.

If multiple credit memos have been issued, you will receive an email for each one. You must confirm each email separately.

  • Understanding the different types of balances

There are different types of balances on your mobile phone:
    • Opening balance - Available only on certain prepaid cards
    • Campaign bonuses or extra credit - Campaign offers or promotions
    • Top-up balance (or main balance) — This is the balance you add to your account and use on a daily basis

    Balances can be:
    • Money
    • Data (internet)
    • Minutes or other

When you use your mobile phone, your credit is used up in this order:
    • 1. Campaign Bonus (Extra Balance)
    • 2. Opening balance
    • 3. Prepaid Balance

Here's how to check your balance.

  • Conditions for using the balance

The initial balance and bonuses (extra balance) on UZO cards can only be used in Portugal and are subject to certain restrictions. With this balance, you cannot:
    • Make calls to numbers starting with 760 and 761
    • Using your mobile phone roaming (abroad)
    • Make calls or send text numbers starting with 6XXXX
    • Pay for subscriptions or purchase content (e.g., games, music, apps)

Cash bonuses are awarded for deposits of €5 or more and are valid for 90 days.

Service fees (including mobile data) are always deducted from the prepaid balance (main balance) for all plans that require top-ups.
